OXXO is the preferred payment method in Mexico. It is a cash payment via a barcode document that’s accepted in more than 14,000 stores.
OXXO is an extremely popular chain of convenience stores in Mexico. With the aim of facilitating payments in the country, the company created the OXXO invoice, a document that is emitted with a barcode and can be paid in any one of the 13,000 convenience stores located throughout the country. It is a method of payment so popular that Mexicans even pay their utility bills using OXXO.
OXXO is very similar to other popular payment methods in Latin America, such as Boleto EBANX (Brazil).
The consumer chooses
OXXO as the form of
payment at checkout.
After finalizing the purchase, the consumer receives a voucher with a barcode referencing the transaction.
This voucher can be printed and paid at any of the 13,000 OXXO convenience stores in the country.
